Country Series Returns in Mighty Fashion

jsra-logo-transKayne Dellar and Jorj Park have started their 2017/2018 JSRA Country Super Series campaigns in the best possible way, claiming Round 1 for their respective division at Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway on Saturday night.

Jhy Pack led the charge in the New Stars, claiming the opening two heats of the night, while his sister Montana would have a night to forget, rolling her Daihatsu Charade in a spectacular fashion in not only the first, but also the second heat of the night. This would ultimately end her night, with some serious damage and a lot of work required before her next race meeting.

Kayne Dellar started to figure prominently, claiming the third and final heat of the night. Dellar would also make the best of the start in the final and charge away to a commanding, half a lap lead, while Jhy Pack sat comfortably in second and Jasmine Arnold in third.

Jade McKeagg and Mackenzie Palmer would jostle for the final places as Kayne Dellar would go on to record a fantastic win over Jhy Pack and Jasmine Arnold.

With sixteen cars, the field of top stars promised greatness and it did not disappoint, with racing 2, 3 and even 4 wide throughout the night. Lachlan Dellar would drive two very smart races to win his opening two heats of the night, while Nikita Donohoe, Alex Swift, Bradley Short and Dylan Parkes would also win an individual heat race.

Bradley Short and Lachlan Dellar would start the 20 lap final on the front row, which saw Dellar quickly move into the race lead. With light rain starting to fall, Dylan Parkes and Jorj Park would begin their charges through the field. Jorj Park would soon move past Lachlan Dellar to take the race lead, as Blake Webb also started to make his impact on the race. Webb would soon find a way past Lachlan Dellar who persisted to run the low line on the track.

Further back in the field, the racing was thick and fast, with many drivers battling it out for positions. Bradley Short, Alex Swift, Rory Elsum-Beaumont, Blake Fletcher and Izzac Delaporte were all separated by the smallest of margins. As the laps continued to tick over, the positions changed a number of times, with Delaporte soon finding his way to the front of this pack.

As Blake Webb started to close the gap between himself and Jorj Park, the race leader, the yellow lights would come on, with Bryden Southwell and Brody Day making contact on the main straight, leaving Brody Day stranded on the infield. This would close the field up once again and a 7 lap restart was ordered.

All eyes were now on Blake Webb, who quickly started to look for a move for the lead of the race. Dylan Parkes now sat in fourth position and was all over Lachlan Dellar, who made a slow restart. As the laps continued to wind down, Jorj Park started to open a handy buffer between himself and Blake Webb, while Lachlan Dellar continued to hold out Dylan Parkes. The white flag was then shown, where Jorj Park was able to hold out a gallant Blake Webb, ahead of Lachlan Dellar who worked hard to narrowly defeat his fellow Kalgoorlie racer Dylan Parkes for third.

Attention will now turn to Round 2 of the JSRA Metropolitan Series to be held at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday November 4th. The next round of the JSRA Country Super Series will see the return to Kalgoorlie International Speedway on Saturday November 25th.

Country Series Begins this Weekend

jsra-logo-transMakit Hardware Narrogin Speedway will host Round 1 of the JSRA Country Super Series this Saturday afternoon, with an excellent field of drivers looking for an early win this season.

Siblings Jhy and Montana Pack headline the small, yet quality field of New Star Junior Sedan drivers and will have Kalgoorlie’s Kayne Dellar biting at their heals after a successful outing at the first Metropolitan Series round a couple of weeks ago. Jasmine Arnold continues to get quicker with every appearance and will be hoping to figure at the front of the field, while Alicia Short and Mackenzie Palmer will look to gain some extra experience in the early stages of their racing careers.

Close to twenty Top Star Junior Sedan drivers will be looking for early season glory this weekend, with a number of drivers expected to figure prominently. Lachlan Dellar and Blake Webb will be the early favourites, both finishing on the podium in Round 1 of the JSRA Metropolitan Series at Ellenbrook Speedway a couple of weeks ago. Bradley Short, Nui Andrews, Jorj Park and Izzac Delaporte will also be the drivers to watch this weekend, tasting glory already this season.

Brody Day, the lone local in the Top Star field will look to use his home track knowledge to move his new Hyundai Excel to the front of the field, though will have to contend with a number of quick drivers including Tyler Fraser, Blake Fletcher and Dylan Parkes. Do not discount any other driver on the nomination list, with all looking for valuable early season points.

Racing gets underway from 3pm this Saturday afternoon at Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway, so make sure you’re their to witness some of the best Junior Sedan action in Australia. If you can’t be trackside, all Junior Sedan results will be posted on the JSRA Facebook page as they occur.

Another Exciting Junior Season Underway

jsra-logo-transBlake Iwanow and Beau Oldfield have last night won the opening round of the JSRA Metropolitan Junior Sedan Series at Ellenbrook Speedway in their respective divisions. With close to thirty junior sedan drivers in both New and Top Stars, the racing did not disappoint with some close, hard racing in all heat and feature races.

In the New Stars, a number of drivers were towards the pointy end of the field in each of the heat races, with Matthew Thomson, Kayne Dellar and Beau Oldfield recording a victory each. Possum Lawrence would find herself upside down in the second heat of the night, however there was little damage to the car and she returned for the following heat.

When it came down to the feature race, Jhy Pack and Beau Oldfield would make a quick start, though Kalgoorlie’s Kayne Dellar would soon close in on his fellow races. Throughout the entire field, the drivers were fighting hard for positions, which ultimately saw a couple of yellow light stoppages after contact between cars. After the stoppages, Kayne Dellar started to launch his attack on Beau Oldfield. The race would be cut short however, when Montana Pack would have a half spin and a soft roll in turn two. Beau Oldfield was awarded the race victory over Kayne Dellar and Jhy Pack.

In the Top Star division, it would be a battle of the Excels throughout the heat races, with the Hyundai’s featuring prominently in all heats. Blake Iwanow, who in his own words has had no luck of late, came out all guns blazing winning each of the three heat races comfortably. Jesse Steele and Alex Swift would begin the afternoon well, finishing second and third in the opening heat.

It would soon become a battle of the Electronic Fuel Injected (EFI) cars, with the positions anyone’s for the taking. The Hyundai’s of Lachlan Dellar, Jackson Derrick, Ethan Cooper, Corey Ameduri and the Daihatsu Charade of Blake Webb figured prominently in each of the heat races, battling closely for positions.

Blake Iwanow would start the feature from pole position and was joined by Lachlan Dellar on the front row. Iwanow would make a quick getaway and lead from Lachlan Dellar, Ethan Cooper and Jackson Derrick who would soon make a pass for third. The race would soon see its first stoppage with Nikita Donohoe spinning, leaving Tanika Webb no where to go, but straight into Donohoe ending the night for both drivers.

As the green flag flew again, Blake Iwanow would again charge away from the field, with Lachlan Dellar and Jackson Derrick fighting hard for the minor places. After another stoppage, Blake Webb and Corey Ameduri would soon move through the field, as Beau Doyle, Jackson Derrick and Alex Swift would all retire in quick succession. Blake Iwanow continue to move away with a commanding lead, which would ultimately see him victorious by an amazing 10.233 seconds ahead of Lachlan Dellar and Blake Webb.

For the JSRA, attention will now turn to the opening round of the JSRA Country Super Series, which will take place at the Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway on Saturday October 21st 2017, with racing getting underway from 3pm. Round 2 of the JSRA Metropolitan Series will head to the Perth Motorplex on Saturday the 4th of November, which will be another great opportunity to showcase the excellent Junior Sedan racing at the state’s leading motorsport venue.

JSRA Metro Series Fires Up this Weekend

jsra-logo-transThe Junior Speedway Racing Association’s 2017/2018 season of Junior Sedan speedway action is about kick off, with the first round of the JSRA Metropolitan Junior Sedan Series to take place this Saturday afternoon at Ellenbrook Speedway in the northern suburbs of Perth.

Two quality fields of Junior Sedan competitors have entered in both the New Star and Top Star divisions, with a number of drivers in contention for victory come final time on Saturday evening.

Jhy Pack, Beau Oldfield, Dean Schofield and Darryl George have all found themselves at the front of the field during the winter months this year and will once again be favourites coming into this weekend’s event. Matthew Thomson, Montana Pack and Jasmine Arnold have also shown that they have what it takes to be at the front of the field and will pose a serious challenge to their competitors at Ellenbrook on Saturday.

Kalgoorlie’s Kayne Dellar is a relative new comer to the sport of speedway, following in his older brother Lachlan’s footsteps. Although new to the sport, Dellar has raced a number of times in the winter months and has shown that he will be provide quite the challenge as the season continues on.

In the Top Stars, Jackson Derrick comes into this weekend as the early favourite, having won all the feature races he has entered at Kellerberrin, Ellenbrook and Moora since the 2017/2018 speedway season began. Despite his results, Derrick will be up against some strong competition with Blake Iwanow and Blake Webb stepping into their Electronic Fuel Injected cars which will no doubt be at the front of the field on Saturday.

Lachlan Dellar, Corey Ameduri and Ethan Cooper can never be discounted in their Hyundai Excels, which will no doubt like the large Ellenbrook Speedway track and see them work towards the front of the field this weekend. Ameduri and Cooper will no doubt use their home track knowledge to their advantage to get the better of their compeition. Also looking to figure prominently will be JSRA regulars Bronty Fraser, Tanika Webb and Alex Swift, who return for yet another season in the ultra competitive JSRA series.

Racing gets underway from 3pm on Saturday afternoon, so be sure to head to Ellenbrook Speedway for some top quality speedway action. Make sure you head to the JSRA Facebook Page and website for all the latest information on Junior Sedan racing in Western Australia, with comprehensive previews and reviews of all events throughout the summer speedway season.
