AGM Committee Nominations

Iwanow and Palmer Dominate

jsra-logo-transRound 5 of the JSRA Country Super Series has been run, won and dominated by a pair of Blake’s at Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway last night. Current West Australian Junior Sedan Champion, Blake Iwanow and Pingaring’s Blake Palmer have won all three heat races and the final in their respective divisions.

Although only a small field of New Star Junior Sedans were on hand, the youngsters delivered some fantastic racing. Blake Palmer and sister Mackenzie would have a great battle in the opening heat, before Mackenzie suffered some mechanical dramas and would fail to start the remaining heat races. Riley Hanson also had mechanical dramas, which would make his night all that more difficult.

When it came to the final, Blake Palmer continued on leading the field, as Riley Hanson started to mount a charge, before mechanical dramas once again forced him to slow. Mackenzie Palmer returned to the track, but could not match the pace of brother Blake, who would go on to record a strong victory ahead of Riley Hanson and Mackenzie Palmer. Brock Lake had a consistent night and stayed out of trouble to finish fourth and was also given an award by Narrogin Club President, Darren Aylmore for holding his line while being passed throughout the night.

As we have come to expect, the Top Star Junior Sedan racing was extremely entertaining, even with car numbers down. Blake Iwanow got off to the best possible start to the night, winning all three heat races, while Izak Davies, Blake Webb and Brody Day would battle in every heat for the minor places.

Come the twenty lap final, Iwanow once again got to the race lead and would not be headed, while Kurtis Blackburn settled into second position. Izak Davies battled with Blake Webb and Brody Day early in the race, before moving clearly into third position, leaving Webb and Day to battle it out for fourth and fifth. The pair raced side by side and jostled for position for the majority of the first fifteen laps of the race, before Day would hit a rut and spin, causing a yellow light.

Jasmine Arnold and Nikita Donohoe as they have done all season raced hard all night, which continued into the final before Arnold would retire from the event with mechanical dramas.

With five laps remaining, the green lights returned and Blake Webb looked eager to make a pass to move into a podium finishing position. Izak Davies would not give it over easily and raced hard with Webb for the remaining laps, but it was all Blake Iwanow who would lead from start to finish the claim Round 5 of the series ahead of Kurtis Blackburn, Izak Davies and Blake Webb. Brody Day would work his way passed Nikita Donohoe to finish in fifth and sixth place respectively.

The JSRA thanks Cranecorp Australia for their support of Round 5 of the JSRA Country Super Series and thank Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway for once again holding a round of the series.

Attention will now turn to Round 6 of the JSRA Country Super Series which will be held on Saturday May 11th at the Pithara Speedway, which will include the annual running of the Fab Martinelli Cup.

No Rest For JSRA Juniors

jsra-logo-transJust a week after Round 4 of the JSRA Country Super Series was held in Margaret River, the series will once again fire into action tomorrow night, with Round 5 to be held at the Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway.

The New Star Junior Sedan division will see five racers battle for the top step of the podium with Brock Lake and Riley Hanson trying to steal the victory off home track heroes and siblings, Blake and Mackenzie Palmer. Jayden Blackburn will also make his debut in the JSRA Country Super Series, with the younger brother of Kurtis a late nomination for this weekend’s action.

West Australian Junior Sedan Champion Blake Iwanow headlines the Top Star division, although will have his work cut out with the podium from Margaret River Kurtis Blackburn, Brody Day and Blake Webb all looking to continue their good run of form. Jasmine Arnold and Nikita Donohoe will once again battle it out for series points, as we head towards the end of the season.

Bullsbrook’s Izak Davies will once again join the series in Narrogin this weekend and will be looking for a strong showing and an opportunity to gain some valuable season points. Dean Schofield has also nominated for the action and will look for some valuable track time after some time on the sidelines.

This weekend’s action will be brought to you by Cranecorp Australia, with the Musarra family once again throwing their support behind the future stars of our sport. The JSRA would like to thank Rick and Sara Musarra for their continued support of the JSRA Country Super Series.

Junior Series Continues This Weekend

jsra-logo-transThe JSRA Country Super Series returns this weekend, with Round 4 of the series to be held at the Trade Hire Augusta – Margaret River Speedway in the Southwest. Although only a small field has entered, the racing is sure to be top notch.

Any number of drivers will be in the chance for victory this weekend, with Brody Day coming in as an early favourite having had a successful third round of the series, leading the race early before finishing third. The ever consistent Blake Webb will look to return to the podium this weekend, after missing a podium finish in Kalgoorlie.

Bunbury’s Brandon Buszan was extremely quick in Kalgoorlie, though he couldn’t quite capitalise on his speed. He will no doubt be one to watch this weekend, as he looks to take his Auto Panel and Paint Hyundai Excel to the front of the field. Kurtis Blackburn missed the last round of the series, but returns after a trip to New Zealand representing Australia, as does Tanika Webb.

JSRA regular, Jasmine Arnold will be hoping for better luck this weekend and will have fellow lady racers Nikita Donohoe and Bunbury racer Erin Fraser to contend with. Margaret River regular Ziggy Phillips has been the one to beat at the host venue and will look to challenge his competitors for victory on home soil.

In the New Star field, only three drivers will compete for victory after Possum Lawrence withdrew from the event. Alyvia Ferraro, Deagan McNally and Teliah Bosley will battle it out for victory, with any driver in the mix.

Make sure you head to the Trade Hire Augusta – Margaret River Speedway this weekend, with racing getting underway from 5pm sharp.

Leonard and Southwell Victorious

jsra-logo-transHometown hero, Tilly Leonard and Mandurah’s Bryden Southwell have claimed Round 3 of the JSRA Country Super Series at Kalgoorlie International Speedway tonight.

In front of a large crowd, the Junior Sedans as always didn’t disappoint with some fantastic racing in each of the heat races. Riley Hanson would win two of the three New Star Junior Sedan heat races, while Chloe Dellar would win the other.

Coming to the twelve lap final, Hanson and Dellar would share the front row and battle it out for the majority of the race. The two swapped positions lap after lap, while Tilly Leonard started to creep up behind. The three racers would race in close proximity for a number of laps, before contact was made between Hanson and Dellar almost resulting in Chloe Dellar’s Hyundai Excel tipping over.

Luckily, she could rejoin and would go back to the front of the field for a seven lap restart. As the green lights came on again, the three racers would race hard looking for victory, while Cam Aldrick would almost bury himself in the make shift mind shaft in the middle of the track. Coming to the checkered flag, Dellar, Hanson and Leonard would swap positions numerous times, before Tilly Leonard would hold off all chargers and cross the line ahead of Riley Hanson and Chloe Dellar.

In the Top Star final, a field of nine cars faced the starter, with Luke Malcolm making the best of the initial start, before Narrogin’s Brody Day made a charge for the front. Day would soon hit the lead, as Lachlan Dellar, Brandon Buzsan and Blake Webb jostled for the minor positions.

Brody Day would lead for a number of laps, before Brandon Buzsan closed the gap and started to look for a way past. Contact would be made between the two, with the latter being sent to the rear for causing the stoppage. Luke Malcolm’s great run would soon come to an end, as he retired from the event.

After the restart, Brody Day would continue in the race lead, as Kayne Dellar started to move through the field along with Bryden Southwell. Brandon Buzsan would also start through the traffic to soon be racing for the lead once again, as Bryden Southwell made a move for the lead.

From this point, Bryden Southwell would not be headed, even after a late race stoppage, which saw Brody Day yet again facing the wrong way. Southwell would prove too strong for his fellow racers, defeating a fast finishing Kayne Dellar, Brody Day, Lachlan Dellar and Blake Webb who fought hard for positions four and five.

The JSRA cannot thank Nathan and Jenelle Dellar from KCLD Cleaning for their support of this round of the JSRA Country Super Series and making sure all of our racers and families felt so welcome in the Goldfields this weekend.

Country Series Returns to Goldfields

jsra-logo-transThe Watson’s Express Kalgoorlie International Speedway fires back into action tomorrow night, when the venue will host Round Three of the JSRA Country Super Series, proudly supported by KCLD Cleaning. The series hasn’t raced since before Christmas, with the Australian and West Australian Titles being held, with JSRA Member Blake Iwanow winning the latter.

Hometown hero and JSRA regular, Chloe Dellar, will headline the New Star field, with fellow locals Tyler Scott and Cam Aldrick in the field, along with Tilly Leonard, who was a late nomination for the event. Riley Hanson will also be in the field, with the Kellerberrin racer fresh off contesting his first state title in Albany.

In the Top Star field, any number of drivers could be in with a chance of winning tomorrow night. Kayne Dellar, who finished second at the State Title had a night to forget last weekend at the Perth Motorplex and will look to bounce back on his home track. Kayne’s brother Lachlan will also be in the field and will look to knock off his younger brother, as will the rest of the field, which is full of quality drivers.

The ever consistent Blake Webb will once again be in the field, along with JSRA regulars Luke Malcolm, Jasmine Arnold, Nikita Donohoe, Tanika Webb, Bryden Southwell and Kurtis Blackburn. Brody Day, Hayden Mortimer, Brandon Buszan and Taj Vanzetti each had a successful State Title in their own rights, with Vanzetti finishing third. They will look to continue their success this weekend, as they race up against some of the state’s best junior drivers.

All Junior Sedan drivers and families are reminded that they are welcome to a BBQ from 2pm, courtesy of the team at KCLD Cleaning to be held in the Kalgoorlie International Speedway clubrooms.

JSRA Heads to Geraldton

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oThe Junior Speedway Racing Association’s Country Super Series heads to Geraldton City Speedway this Saturday night. The event will be Round Two of the Country Super Series and is set to be an absolute cracker.

Although only a small field of New Stars are nominated, the action won’t disappoint with Round One winner Chloe Dellar in the field, along with a number of Geraldton locals who will look to take a win on home soil including the in-form Travis Strelley, Emma Ahearn, Alicia Short and Murphy Reid. Brock Lake, although only new to the sport has shown that he will look to move up the field, after his efforts at Moora a fortnight ago.

Darryl George will be the driver to beat in the Top Star ranks after winning the opening round of the series at Moora. George won’t have it all his own way though, as Blake Webb and Kurtis Blackburn will look to get the upper hand, which they couldn’t quite do two weeks ago.

Bryden Southwell and Kayne Dellar have also shown that they are right on the pace and will look to take the top step of the podium this weekend. Lachlan Dellar had a difficult opening round of the series and will look to gain some valuable points back in Geraldton.

Eight Geraldton based drivers will be in the field this weekend with Mitchell Baker, Bradley Short, Bradley Chant, Ahryn Curtin, Rory Elsum-Beaumont, Rohan Thomas, Joshua Ahearn and Luke Malcolm looking to claim a win in front of their home crowd.

Jasmine Arnold, Nikita Donohoe and Tanika Webb had a brilliant battle in the feature race at Moora and will no doubt resume this battle in the Midwest on Saturday night.

Metro Series Continues this Weekend

jsra-logo-transThe JSRA Metropolitan Series continues this weekend, with Round Four of the series set to take place at Avon Valley Speedway in Northam, just an hour from the Perth Metro area.

With the venue under new management for the remainder of this season, the JSRA in conjunction with the new management are looking forward to see some top quality Junior Sedan action on the tight bullring of Avon Valley.

As always, the JSRA will field two divisions; New Stars and Top Stars, who will all be looking forward to racing at a new track.

Jade McKeagg will be the driver to watch on Saturday evening, as she looks to redeem herself after mechanical dramas left her out of the second half of racing at Moora last weekend. Brock Lake impressed many in Moora last weekend and will look to gain more experience, as will Joshua Wardley and Olivia Earle, two newer drivers in the division. Geraldton’s Emma Ahearn is the other driver, who will be making the trip down to Northam this weekend.

In the Top Star field, a number of drivers who competed at Moora Speedway last weekend will look to figure prominently, headlined by the winner Darryl George and ultra consistent Blake Webb. Both drivers will have tough competition from Kurtis Blackburn, Bryden Southwell and Izak Davies, who figured prominently last weekend.

Jasmine Arnold and Rohan Thomas also impressed at Moora and will look to continue on their quest for victory at Avon Valley this weekend. Alex Swift, Jhy Pack and Joshua Ahearn will also be in the field and will look to knock off their competition to claim Round 4 of the Metro Series.

Action at Avon Valley Speedway will get underway from 6.30pm this Saturday night, with Junior Competitors racing in three heat races and a final each.

Dellar and George Claim Series Opener

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oChloe Dellar and Darryl George have claimed Round One of the JSRA Country Super Series for their respective divisions at Moora Speedway last night.

Dellar dominated proceedings in the New Star division, going through the event undefeated, while her fellow drivers jostled for the minors places. Jade McKeagg started the night well, before mechanical dramas ended her night. Brock Lake, Matilda Hull and Deagan McNally; all in their first season of speedway racing, raced hard all night, though could not match the pace of Dellar.

With a quality field of Top Star drivers entered, the night promised some great racing and lived up to it’s expectation, with drivers racing two and three wide. Geraldton’s Ahryn Curtin began the night in the best possible fashion, winning the opening heat, while Darryl George would also claim his first heat win.

Bunbury’s Brandon Buszan would defeat a very quick Kurtis Blackburn to win the third heat of the night, before Beau Oldfield fought off his fellow racers, who through everything at him to win heat four.

The final round of heats, would see the night’s fifth different heat winner, demonstrating how even WA Junior Sedan racing can be, as Blake Webb defeated Rohan Thomas and sister, Tanika Webb. Darryl George would become the first multiple heat race winner, as he crossed the line to win the final heat of the night.

The twenty-lap feature would see Darryl George and Kurtis Blackburn start from the front row. George would hit the front from the outset and would endure a number of yellow light stoppages. Rory Elsum-Beaumont was the first retirement with a flat front right tyre, as Blake Webb started to look quick behind Kurtis Blackburn.

Further back in the field, Lachlan Dellar who suffered damage earlier in the night would begin his charge through the field, as younger brother Kayne would retire from the event.

The battle in front started to heat up, as Kurtis Blackburn and Blake Webb closed in on race leader, Darryl George. Blackburn would soon fall back through the field, as Beau Oldfield, Bryden Southwell and Brody Day battled for the minor positions.

With laps winding down, Darryl George would do enough to defeat Blake Webb and Brody Day to claim Round One of the JSRA Country Super Series.

Attention for the JSRA will now turn to Round Four of the JSRA Metropolitan Series, which heads to Avon Valley Speedway next weekend. The next JSRA Country Super Series will be the weekend after, at Geraldton City Speedway on Saturday December 8th.
