JSRA Grand Final This Weekend

jsra-logo-transThe JSRA Country Super Series will come to a close this weekend, with two huge nights of racing to be held at Carnarvon Speedway, 900 kilometres north of Perth.

The event, which is proudly sponsored by Jason and Shannan Webb from Webbcrete in WA’s far north, will see great numbers of Junior drivers battle it out for series points for the final time this season.

On Saturday, drivers will race for all important points, along with trophies for the Top Three finishers in the night’s final. On Sunday, we will see the running of the annual Fab Martinelli Cup, after this event had to be held off earlier this month. Drivers will not only fight for series points and the Fab Martinelli Cup, but also the crown of North West Champ, with points tallying up across both nights to go towards this award.

Although numbers are down in the New Star division, it will be a great opportunity for the drivers to gain some valuable track time and battle it out for the crown of North West Champion.

A fantastic field of sixteen Top Stars have entered for the event, with the majority of racers coming from the northern half of the state. Blake Webb, Kurtis Blackburn and Brody Day will headline the field, after some great results with the JSRA this season. Fierce lady racers Jasmine Arnold and Tanika Webb will also be in the field and will hoping for a great run to end their JSRA seasons.

Geraldton based racers Bradley Short, Rory Elsum-Beaumont, Rohan Thomas, Brock Reid and Bradley Chant will make the five hour drive for this event and will be very hard to beat.

Hometown heroes Chayse Jackson, David Andreoli and Jack Buzzard will fly the Carnarvon flag and will look to use their home track knowledge to gain the upper hand on their out of town visitors.

The other driver to watch this weekend will be Karratha’s Jared Coutts, who qualified for the A Main of the WA Junior Sedan Title at Albany’s Attwell Park Speedway in January. Coutts will look to once again be at the pointy end of the Junior field this weekend.

Racing gets underway from 6pm this Saturday and Sunday night at Carnarvon Speedway. Results will also be posted on the JSRA Facebook Page throughout the weekend.

The JSRA must of course thank our sponsors for this weekend – Jason and Shannan Webb of Webbcrete, as well as Carnarvon Speedway for holding the final round of the JSRA Country Super Series.
