Metro Series Concludes with a Cracker

Fast Racing FinalThe final round of the JSRA Metropolitan Series has come to a close at the Perth Motorplex last night with a sensational display of driving from all Junior Sedan competitors.

Heat one of the evening would see a very slick track surface, which caused chaos throughout the field with a number of drivers making contact with the concrete wall at some point in the race. Jackson Derrick who along with Blake Webb were fighting for the Perth Motorplex Track Championship and the JSRA Metropolitan Series started his night with a win in the opening heat. Bryden Southwell would score an easy win in the New Star Juniors, followed by Jade McKeagg.

The second heat would see a great race for the lead between Blake Webb and Jake Avins who raced side by side for a number of laps right up until the last corner, with Webb defeating Avins by the smallest of margins. Izak Davies would have a great battle with Mitchell Bosveld for the minor places, while Bryden Southwell would win his second heat of the night.

The final heat of the night would see Blake Webb run away to victory for the second time of the night, with Jake Avins again finishing second ahead of Jackson Derrick who was trying all so hard to get to the front of the field. Luke Malcolm would charge to victory in the New Star field, a great result after hitting the concrete wall earlier in the night.

Blake Webb and Jake Avins would start on the front row for the last feature race of the season, with Webb immediately taking the lead. Jake Avins and Jackson Derrick would have a brilliant race for second and third, with Izak Davies and Mitchell Bosveld battling for fourth and fifth. Luke Malcolm got off to a strong start in the New Star division, with Bryden Southwell following behind.

With the laps winding down, Blake Webb continued his strong run and would hold on to take the last win of the season, which also secured the Perth Motorplex Track Championship and a new 12 lap record ahead of Jake Avins and Jackson Derrick. Luke Malcolm would defeat Bryden Southwell and Jade McKeagg in what was a great final night of racing.

The final results of the JSRA Metropolitan Series will be announced at the JSRA Presentation Evening on Saturday May 27th following the final round of the JSRA Country Super Series at Pithara Speedway on May 13.

Series Finale This Saturday

jsra-logo-transThe 2016/2017 JSRA Metropolitan Series will come to a close this weekend at the Perth Motorplex, with the fifth and final round of the series.

Jackson Derrick and Blake Webb have been the form drivers of the Top Star division so far and are extremely close in points heading into this weekend’s final round and will both be looking for a good night’s racing to earn some valuable points.

Jake Avins will race in his own car this weekend and is in good form after winning Round 8 of the JSRA Country Super Series at Augusta-Margaret River Speedway last weekend. Izak Davies started the Metro Series off going through undefeated in Round 1, but has since suffered mechanical dramas and will hope to finish the night’s racing this weekend.

Mitchell Bosveld has had a mixed season and will look to finish the season in a strong way, but will have Alex Swift, Isaac Arnold and Ebony Does amongst the competition.

In the New Star division, Bryden Southwell has been one of the most consistent drivers of the season and will look to finish in a strong way, as will Luke Malcolm who has been in top form of recent times. Fast Racing Final

Exciting End to Easter in Margaret River

JSRA COUNTRY SUPER SERIES - R8Round 8 of the JSRA Country Super Series, proudly supported by Cranecorp Australia has last night been won by Luke Malcolm and Jake Avins at Augusta-Margaret River Speedway,

After Friday night’s racing was abandoned due to significant damage to the pit gates, the third heat of the Top Star Juniors was re-run as the first event of the evening, with Jake Avins prevailing from Blake Webb and Jackson Derrick.

The Top Star Junior Sedans then had another three heat race events, all of which were hard fought to the checkered flag. Jackson Derrick would win the fourth heat of the weekend, while Jake Avins would work hard to win the last two heat races of the night.

Blake Fletcher who was caught up in the incident on Friday night, would once again suffer significant damage, colliding with the concrete wall in his last heat, ending his weekend. Tanika Webb would also retire from the weekend after the heat races concluded.

With the 10 o’clock time curfew fast approaching, the Top Star Junior Sedan feature was slightly reduced in laps, however the racing was of the highest quality as we have come to expect. The initial start would be short lived, with a number of cars making contact, forcing the yellow lights to come on.

When the race did get back underway, Jackson Derrick made the best of the jump and led the opening couple of laps, before Jake Avins applied immense pressure, forcing Derrick to make a small mistake. From here, Jake Avins would not be headed, though Izzac Delaporte soon worked his way passed Jackson Derrick to take second position.

With the laps winding down, the leading trio continued to race in close proximity, with Blake Webb and Peter Katona jostling for the minor positions. As the checkered flag flew, Jake Avins would not be headed and would take the victory ahead of Izzac Delaporte and Jackson Derrick.

In the New Star division, the racing lived up to its recent standard and was of the highest standard, with many drivers fighting to take heat race victories on the night. Luke Malcolm would take the first of the night, however Matthew Thomson would prove to be one of the hardest chargers of the weekend to take the remaining two heat races.

The final over 15 laps, would be an absolute cracker, with Luke Malcolm taking the lead early, though Matthew Thomson, Bryden Southwell and Aidan Doak were all in with a chance. As the laps continued to wind down, the spectators were gifted a real treat, with the leading half dozen all jostling for position.

The first stoppage would see Montana Pack facing the concrete wall, which closed the entire field up for the rest of the race. Luke Malcolm would make the best of the jump and continued to lead, as Southwell, Thomson and Jhy Pack resumed their battle.

With a green-white-checkered finish soon called for after another stoppage. The battle continued once again, with the leaders all in close proximity, though it would be too late as Luke Malcolm cruised away to take the round victory, as Matthew Thomson made a late charge to take second place on the last corner from Bryden Southwell and Jhy Pack.

The attention for the JSRA now turns to the final round of the JSRA Metropolitan Series, which once again heads to the Perth Motorplex next Saturday night, with all drivers looking to earn some last minute points in the series.

JSRA COUNTRY SUPER SERIES - R8

Dramatic End to Night #1 in Margaret River

JSRA COUNTRY SUPER SERIES - R8Night 1 of the Easter double header at Augusta-Margaret River Speedway, including the Round 8 of the JSRA Country Super Series, proudly supported by Cranecorp Australia has come to a dramatic end with a scary crash last night.

The event which doubles as the KJB Fabrication Junior Sedan Championships saw 24 of the best Junior Sedan competitors take to the south-west venue, ready for a big weekend of racing.

To get the night started, the New Star Juniors raced extremely hard with a few incidents bringing on the yellow lights on numerous occasions. When the racing did get underway, free of stoppages, the racing was a brilliant spectacle and a treat for all of those watching on. South-west racer Aidan Doak started in the best possible way, winning comfortably from Matthew Thomson and Montana Pack.

The second heat would be very close with Bryden Southwell defeating Luke Malcolm and Jhy Pack, while the third heat of the night would see Matthew Thomson steal the victory from Luke Malcolm on the last corner, while Bryden Southwell would finish third.

Jackson Derrick would race away from the field in the opening heat of the Top Star Junior Sedans to win comfortably from Jake Avins and Blake Fletcher, while Izak Davies’ weekend would come to a premature end suffering mechanical dramas yet again.

The second heat would see Jake Avins and Izzac Delaporte jostling for positions throughout the race until lap traffic would see Avins get caught up, with Izzac Delaporte taking the victory ahead of Avins and Blake Fletcher, who was having a great night until this point.

The third heat of the night for the Top Star Juniors would see one of the scariest crashes of recent times, when Blake Fletcher made slight contact with another car, which then saw him fly into the pit gates, before making contact with the corner of the concrete wall and pit area, this then sending him back through the pit gates before coming to a rest on his side in the pit area (see picture below).

Luckily Blake was able to climb from the car, which suffered very little damage, though the pit gates were severely damaged, which brought the night to a premature end. The Augusta-Margaret River Speedway has worked hard over night to repair the gates ahead of tonight’s racing program.

Racing will get underway from 5pm WST tonight to decide the winner of Round 8 of the JSRA Country Super Series. All results will be on the JSRA Facebook page and website.

JSRA COUNTRY SUPER SERIES - R8

Juniors Head South for Easter

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oRound 8 of the JSRA Country Super Series proudly supported by Cranecorp Australia heads to Augusta-Margaret River Speedway for a huge two nights of racing this Friday and Saturday.

This weekend’s action is the penultimate round of the 2016/2017 series, with just one round to follow in Pithara and is a great chance for drivers to earn some valuable series points across both days. This event will also double as the KJB Fabrication Southwest Junior Sedan Championships.

A great field of New Star Junior Sedan competitors have entered for this weekend’s event, with Luke Malcolm, Bryden Southwell and Jhy Pack headlining the field. Montana Pack and Brody Day will look to continue their consistent run in the series this far, but will have some quality competition from local southwest racers Matthew Thomson, Jordyn Macpherson and Jonty Barnsby.

Isabella Freeland will re-join this series this weekend and will be hoping for some good luck, as will Libby Macpherson, Ziggy Phillips and Aidan Doak.

Jake Avins, Jackson Derrick and Izzac Delaporte head the field of Top Star Junior Sedan drivers, all of whom figured prominently at the last round in Manjimup. Blake Webb, Blake Fletcher, Peter Katona and Seth Hinsey have enjoyed a mixed season this far and find themselves in a quality position heading into the concluding stages of the series. They will all be hoping for a solid run this weekend to cement their position in the overall series standings.

Daniel Erceg, Tanika Webb and Izak Davies will also be looking for a solid run in Margaret River this weekend after suffering mixed luck throughout the season so far. This weekend will also see local Josh Davis join the quality field, who will no doubt hope his home track knowledge will help him move to the front of the field.

We encourage everyone to head to our Facebook page “Junior Speedway Racing Association – JSRA” and check out our website jsrawa.com for all the up to date information on the JSRA.

The JSRA thank Alex and his team from Augusta-Margaret River Speedway for bringing us back to their great venue and thank Rick and Sara from Cranecorp Australia and Kyle from KJB Fabrication for their support of this event.

The JSRA also wishes everyone a very happy and safe Easter!

Ameduri Awesome in Manjimup

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oRound 7 of the JSRA Country Super Series held at Southern Forest Machinery Raceway in Manjimup last night, has seen Stefani Ameduri claim victory in what was highly competitive night of Junior Sedan racing.

An extremely high quality list of entrants, with some of the best drivers in the nation had entered for the event and as we have come to expect from previous rounds of the JSRA Country Super Series, the heat racing was wide open. This was then proven in the heat races with five different heat victors including Blake Webb, Jackson Derrick, Peter Katona, Rahni Musarra and Jorj Park who would win on two occasions.

This would see Jorj Park start on the front row alongside Jake Avins for the 20 lap feature race with Stefani Ameduri and Jackson Derrick from row two. The race for the lead would see five cars fighting it out including Jorj Park, Jake Avins, Stefani Ameduri, Izzac Delaporte and Jackson Derrick. As the leading group started to move away from the rest of the field, Blake Fletcher held his own in sixth position ahead of Seth Hinsey, as Blake Webb now started to charge through the field after rolling earlier in the night.

Stefani Ameduri was now the leader and led by a comfortable distance from Jake Avins, Jorj Park, Izzac Delaporte and Jackson Derrick who continued to circulate in close proximity before the yellow lights would come home with Rahni Musarra and Daniel Erceg stopped in turn 2. This would end the race for Musarra, who suffered damage in the incident.

With thirteen laps remaining, Jake Avins would make a ripping re-start behind Stefani Ameduri who led the field into turns 1 and 2. Izzac Delaporte now started to make a charge through the field and battled hard with Jorj Park who both ran wide allowing Jackson Derrick through for third.

The laps continued to count down, as Stefani Ameduri once again stretched her lead out from Avins and Derrick. Derrick would soon run wide, as Izzac Delaporte moved into third position. The race for the minor places wasn’t over from here, as Jake Avins, Izzac Delaporte and Jackson Derrick continued to dice for second, third and fourth position.

With the white flag now on display, the battle for the last podium positions was not over from here, as Avins, Delaporte and Derrick continued to race extremely hard. Stefani Ameduri would prove to be too strong as she crossed the line to take the victory in Round 7 of the JSRA Country Super Series ahead of Izzac Delaporte, who narrowing defeated Jake Avins and Jackson Derrick.

The rest of the field fought hard for positions, with Blake Fletcher driving a solid race to finish fifth ahead of Blake Webb, Seth Hinsey, Jorj Park, Brooke Watson, Daniel Erceg, Jaymee Park, Corey Ameduri and Tanika Webb.

New Stars Marvellous in Manji

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oJhy Pack has last night claimed Round 7 of the JSRA Country Super Series at Southern Forest Machinery Raceway in Manjimup in what was another sensational night of Junior Sedan action.

A quality field of eleven New Star competitors, Luke Malcolm made a great start, defeating Matthew Thomson and Bryden Southwell comfortably on a slippery track. Jhy Pack and Matthew Thomson would then share the victories in the remaining two heats, which promised an exciting 15 lap feature race.

With Luke Malcolm and Jhy Pack off the front row, all was set for a thrilling 15 lap feature race, though this would come to an abrupt end for Luke Malcolm who suffered mechanical dramas before reaching the first corner.

Jhy Pack would inherit the race lead and from sister Montana and Matthew Thomson. Thomson would soon make a pass for second position and started to apply immense pressure to the race leader. Bryden Southwell now started to buy his way into the battle for minor placings, charging up behind Montana Pack in third. Further back in the field, Albany lady racers Bianca Kennedy and Hope Batchelor would fight hard for the minor places.

As the laps continued to wind down, Matthew Thomson continued to torment Jhy Pack who continued at the front of the field, with Montana Pack now making a move on Thomson. Bryden Southwell continued to watch in fourth position as the leading trio battled it out.

With heavy traffic now approaching, the leaders started to approach and the race for the lead was well and truly on in earnest. As the white flag flew, Matthew Thomson and Montana Pack were extremely close to the leader, which would soon come to a halt with Ellie Sing spinning and bringing on the yellow lights.

A green, white, checkered re-start would follow, which saw Jhy Pack make a great start ahead of sister Montana, Thomson and Bryden Southwell who was now within striking distance. The white flag flew once again with Montana Pack closing in on younger brother Jhy Pack, but it was all too late as Jhy Pack crossed the line to record his second round victory in a row ahead of Montana Pack and a fast finishing Bryden Southwell. Matthew Thomson would finish a gallant fourth place in what was a great race from the New Star Junior Sedans.
