Manjimup Bound for the JSRA

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oThe JSRA Country Super Series will head to Southern Forest Machinery Raceway in Manjimup this Saturday night for Round 7 of the highly competitive series. With some of the best Junior Sedan racers in Australia set to battle it out for all important series points, the racing promises greatness once again this season.

Bryden Southwell, Luke Malcolm and Jhy Pack will enter this round as early favourites in the New Star division and have all tasted success this season. Brody Day, Montana Pack and Isabella Freeland who have all joined the series this year have had some pleasing results so far and will be hoping for some good luck again on Saturday night.

Tobi Gunson, Ellie Sing, Jonty Barnsby, Hope Batchelor, Josh Davis and Matthew Thomson will all join the series regulars this weekend and will hope to put up a big challenge to their fellow racers.

In the Top Star division, Jake Avins, Blake Webb and Jackson Derrick have all figured prominently so far this season, but will be faced with a serious challenge from Peter Katona, Jorj Park, Seth Hinsey and Izzac Delaporte. Each of these racers have been very quick of late and will be hoping to earn some valuable points heading into the closing rounds of the series.

Lady racers Bronty Fraser, Rahni Musarra, Ebony Does, Jaymee Park and Tanika Webb will hope that lady luck is on their side as they also look to steal the victory from their male counterparts this weekend.

Esperance racers Blake Fletcher and Daniel Erceg will once again make the long trek across to Manjimup for this weekend’s racing and will be hoping for some better luck in order to earn some series points. Izak Davies will also re-join the series on Saturday night and will be looking to take it up against some strong competition.

The JSRA must thank the Manjimup Speedway Club for once again holding a round of our series at their venue.

Terrific Top Stars

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oThe Top Star Junior Sedans have once again delivered some of the best quality speedway racing at the Quit Collie Speedway last night for Round 6 of the JSRA Country Super Series supported by Hamon Tyre and Exhaust Centre.

Jake Avins went into this event as an early favourite and started the evening in the best way, claiming the opening heat of the night. Izzac Delaporte, Jorj Park, Stefani Ameduri and Blake Webb would also find themselves at the front of the field in the subsequent heat races.

Izzac Delaporte would be the only driver that would prevail in two heat races, which would give him a pole position start for the 20-lap feature race.

As the green flag dropped on the 20-lap feature race, Broome’s Jorj Park would make the best of the start and would lead the field, as Jake Avins started to charge around a few cars, as did Blake Webb. Stefani Ameduri also started to make her mark on the race, apply immense pressure to Blake Webb.

Seth Hinsey was having a great run and in front of his home track started to make his effect on the race, as Izzac Delaporte started to line up a move on Jorj Park. As the duo went through turn 2, there would almost be a touch, before Izzac Delaporte would make contact with Jorj Park, which resulted in a yellow light.

At the stoppage Jorj Park would be sent to the rear of the field and would have a lot of work to do with 16 laps remaining. Izzac Delaporte would lead the field, as Peter Katona now started to move through the field.

The race continued at a high pace, with Jorj Park now charging his way through the field towards the front once again. Stefani Ameduri now sat in second position and had some work to do in order to catch our race leader.

With eight laps remaining, the yellow lights would be forced to come on, as Blake Fletcher lost a wheel, ending his race. When the green light came on again, Stefani Ameduri made a great start, as did Jorj Park who had now moved his way into position 4 after working his way through the field from the rear.

With Delaporte continuing to lead by about 1 second, Tylar Main would retire from the event with a flat tyre. Jake Avins, Jorj Park and Blake Webb fought hard for the minor positions, with Park and Avins getting hooked together across the start finish line. The yellow lights would have to come on once again, as Jorj Park lost his rear bumper from the car going into turn 1.

Jorj Park would be told to go to the infield for causing two stoppages, which was very disappointing for the Broome racer. With only a handful of laps remaining, Izzac Delaporte continued to lead the field from Stefani Ameduri, Blake Webb and Jake Avins. Avins now moved to the inside of Blake Webb and would take away third position, as Peter Katona now moved past Blake Webb.

As the field came to the checkered flag, Izzac Delaporte would prevail from Stefani Ameduri and Jake Avins to take out the sixth round of the JSRA Country Super Series.

Attention will now turn to Round 7 of the JSRA Country Super Series which heads to Southern Forest Machinery Raceway in Manjimup on Saturday April 1st.

Pack Times it to Perfection

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oJhy Pack last night claimed the biggest win of his short career, defeating Luke Malcolm and Bryden Southwell on the last lap to claim Round 6 of the JSRA Country Super Series at Quit Collie Speedway.

With a quality field of 12 New Star competitors, Luke Malcolm started the evening in the best possible way, claiming the first two heat race victories, while Jhy Pack would claim the third and final heat of the night.

The racing behind was fierce and tough, with Bryden Southwell, Montana Pack and Brody Day figuring prominently in each of the heat races.

When it came to the 15 lap feature race, Luke Malcolm would make the best of the jump, while Jhy and Montana Pack would duel it out behind. Jae Noonan and Aiden Doak would start to move their way through the field, as did Brody Day and Bryden Southwell who were right behind the leaders.

This would soon come undone as the Pack siblings traded blows, which would see Montana retire from the event and Jhy drop back through the field significantly. Brody Day would capitalise and move into a top 3 position behind Bryden Southwell and Luke Malcom who continued to lead.

Luke Malcolm started to feel immense pressure from Bryden Southwell, as Jhy Pack was charging back through the field. With two laps remaining, the leaders had to deal with lapped traffic as Jhy Pack went around the outside of Malcolm and Southwell to put up a real challenge for the race lead.

Bryden Southwell charged to the inside of Malcolm and Pack and with a corner to go were three wide as they came to the line. Jhy Pack would narrowly defeat Luke Malcolm, Bryden Southwell and Brody Day to take the win in Round 6 of the JSRA Country Super Series.

Attention will now turn to Round 7 of the JSRA Country Super Series which heads to Southern Forest Machinery Raceway in Manjimup on Saturday April 1st.

JSRA Country Super Series Continues this Weekend

13988251_1081826608570498_4826323605500784604_oThe JSRA Country Super Series heads to Quit Collie Speedway this Saturday night for the sixth round of the series, proudly supported by Hamon Tyre and Exhaust Centre.

Some of Australia’s best Junior Sedan drivers have entered for this weekend’s event and will fight it out for not only the round victory, but also for valuable JSRA Country Super Series points. Currently the series is wide open, with a number of drivers close on points as we enter the second half of the series.

Hometown heros, Jake Avins and Seth Hinsey will no doubt be the drivers to watch, with Avins claiming numerous feature race victories this season, including the recent Collie Junior Sedan Championships.

Peter Katona, Blake Fletcher, Izak Davies and Blake Webb will be looking to put up a real challenge on Saturday night, as they fight for series points. Brother and sister duos of Stefani and Corey Ameduri and Jorj and Jaymee Park will also be in the mix, recording some top results throughout Australia this season.

Brodie Dunn, Nathan Carter and Izzac Delaporte will look to fly the local flag against some tough competition and will be hoping to be at the pointy end of the field come A-Main time.

In the New Star field Luke Malcolm, Bryden Southwell, Jhy and Montana Pack will come into this round as favourites, being the form drivers of the season so far. Brody Day has had some pleasing results this season and will hope to move his Suzuki Swift towards the front of the field throughout the night.

Local racers, Jordyn and Libby Macpherson, along with Ziggy Yates, Erin Fraser and Jorja Davies will surely use their home track knowledge to try get the upper hand on their rivals.

The JSRA must thank the Quit Collie Speedway and Collie Racing Drivers Association for holding a round of our series again this season, as well as all of our valued sponsors that have made the season so successful to this point.
